AMJ Worldwide to Honor LaPlace’s Favorite Educators to Kick Off the New Year!

The 2024 school year has begun and AMJ Worldwide will be honoring some of the regions most valuable assets: teachers.  On Saturday, August 17 at 3pm, AMJ Worldwide will be hosting the “Unsung Heroes Educating and Empowering Generations” Gala at Choice International with guest speaker Dr. Keisha Fleming. This exciting occasion is a fundraiser that will continue to help fund their community benevolence efforts including supplying the community with school supplies, educational resources and scholarships.

When asked about his inspiration for creating the event, AMJ Worldwide founder, Dr. Antoine Jasmine says, “I don’t think teachers get the credit they deserve. I remember when I was growing up my teachers were some of the most impactful people to my development. It’s partially because of their love, consistency and patience that I am the man I am today, and I think it’s important that we celebrate those who are currently still inspiring the next generation.” Special honorees of the evening include Shirley Trench, Janice Smith, Janie Henderson, Debra Schum, Lester Smith, Arthur Harper, Geraldine Cox, and Carol Breaux.

The evening’s keynote speaker, Dr. Fleming, also has a vast background in education which makes her the perfect addition to the night’s festivities. She has been an educator for 19 years with a Bachelors Degree in Elementary Education, a Masters in Educational Leadership and a doctorate in Christian Counseling. She was also recognized as “Elementary Teacher of the Year” at Iberville Math, Science, and Arts Academy East in St Gabriel, LA. She is an advocate with Stand for Children, SheLeads Alum, Leaders of Color and was highlighted as a “Black Hero Spotlight” by Congressman Troy Carter which makes her the perfect voice to pour back into the teachers do so much for our youth.
